Hydraulic Log Splitter for Firewood Processing – Fast, Safe & Mobile

The HT-PM80 is a gasoline-powered hydraulic log splitter designed for farm, homestead, and firewood processing. With 8 tons of splitting force, 630mm log capacity, and a 6.5HP Briggs & Stratton engine, it handles hardwoods efficiently and safely without manual axe work.

Splitting firewood with an axe is slow, exhausting, and genuinely dangerous—especially when you’re processing cords of hardwood for winter heating or commercial firewood sales. One misplaced swing can mean a trip to the emergency room. The HT-PM80 hydraulic log splitter takes the risk and the labor out of firewood processing.

This unit runs on a 6.5HP Briggs & Stratton 130G gasoline engine, powering a hydraulic system that delivers 8 tons of splitting force through a 95mm cylinder. The single control valve (BDL40-0T-10) gives you straightforward operation—push the handle, the wedge moves forward, the log splits, release to return. The splitting cycle takes about 8 seconds per log, which adds up to serious production over a day’s work.

The machine accepts logs up to 630mm in length and 400mm in diameter—enough to handle most firewood sizes without pre-cutting. The high carbon steel blade is hardened and holds its edge through repeated use. At 220kg, the HT-PM80 is heavy enough to stay stable during operation but still manageable for movement around the yard. The rubber tires let you roll it between work areas, and optional towing equipment means you can pull it behind a car, ATV, or tractor. For tight storage, the unit stands upright—reducing the footprint when not in use.

This machine is for anyone processing firewood beyond what a splitting axe can handle efficiently. Small farms, homesteads, firewood retailers, and campground operators all benefit from a splitter that turns a day of exhausting labour into a few hours of straightforward work.

What size logs can this splitter handle?
The HT-PM80 accepts logs up to 630mm in length and 400mm in diameter. The 8-ton splitting force is sufficient for most hardwoods—oak, maple, hickory, and elm all split cleanly. For larger or knotty pieces, you can adjust your technique or split from the edge rather than the center.
How long does it take to split a log?
The splitting cycle is about 8 seconds from start to return—that's from the wedge engaging the log to fully splitting and retracting. In practical terms, you can process roughly 40 to 50 logs per hour, depending on how quickly you can load and position each piece. A cord of wood that would take a full day with an axe can be handled in a few hours.
Can this machine be transported between job sites?
Yes. The rubber tires allow you to roll it around the yard, and the optional towing attachment lets you pull it behind a car, ATV, or tractor. The total transport length is 2500mm, which fits behind most vehicles. The upright storage position (1910mm height) also reduces floor space when parked.
