HTM-550D 4WD Remote Control Lawn Mower

The HT550D is a four-wheel drive remote control mower designed for agility and speed. With a 550mm cutting width, 45° slope capability, 680m remote range, and multiple engine options from 190CC to 224CC, it handles orchards, lawns, and plazas with precision.

Orchards with tight tree spacing, golf courses with frequent turns, and large lawns that need a clean finish—these are the jobs where tracked mowers feel sluggish and ride-ons can’t reach. The HT550D four-wheel drive remote mower solves both problems. It’s wheeled for speed and agility, giving you instant steering response that tracked units simply can’t match. When you need to weave between trees, navigate around flower beds, or make sharp turns at the end of a row, this mower executes commands immediately—no lag, no oversteer.

The 550mm cutting width covers ground efficiently, with mowing efficiency up to 1900m² per hour. That’s enough to handle a full day’s work on a commercial orchard or a large municipal lawn. The cutting height adjusts manually from 20mm for a golf-green finish up to 150mm for rough mowing. The wheeled design has lower rolling resistance than crawler tracks, which translates to a faster walking speed of 0-3.5km/h on flat, hard ground—you’ll cover more area in less time compared to track-driven alternatives.

Slopes aren’t an issue either. The four-wheel drive system provides traction on inclines up to 45°, and the low center of gravity keeps the machine stable. With a 680-meter remote control range, you can stand on level ground while mowing a steep hillside, keeping yourself out of harm’s way. The controls are intuitive enough that operators can be productive after a quick walkthrough—no extensive training required.

Power is flexible. Choose from Loncin (196CC or 224CC), Yamaha (190CC), Kohler (200CC), or Rato (200CC) gasoline engines. Start it with a pull cord or push-button electric start. Charging can be external or via the engine’s self-charging system, depending on your preference and usage patterns. The self-charging setup is particularly useful for commercial operations where the mower runs for extended periods—the battery stays topped up without manual intervention. At just 103kg net weight and compact dimensions (1000x830x460mm), the HT550D transports easily in a pickup or trailer.

For property maintenance crews, orchard managers, golf course superintendents, and parks departments, this is a practical tool that combines the speed of a wheeled mower with the remote-control safety of a slope mower.

What's the difference between this wheeled mower and a tracked mower like the HT520?
The HT550D uses four-wheel drive instead of tracks. Wheels have lower rolling resistance, which means faster travel speeds on flat, hard ground—3.5km/h versus the 4.7km/h of some tracked models, but with more agility. Wheels also turn more sharply, making this model better for orchards with tight tree spacing, golf courses with frequent directional changes, and any job site where precise obstacle avoidance matters. Tracks excel on soft, wet ground and steeper slopes; wheels excel on firm ground with frequent turns.
Can this really handle a 45-degree slope?
Yes, the four-wheel drive system provides traction on inclines up to 45° in dry conditions. The low center of gravity and wide stance help with stability. However, as with any slope mowing, conditions matter—wet grass, loose soil, or debris can reduce effective slope capability. Always assess the site and start on gentler slopes before tackling the steepest sections.
Why so many engine choices—which one should I pick?
Different operators have different priorities. The Loncin 196CC is the most economical and sufficient for light to moderate use. The Loncin 224CC delivers more power for thick grass or heavier workloads. Yamaha and Kohler are premium brands with strong dealer networks and parts availability in many regions. Rato offers a good middle-ground option. Choose based on your budget, local dealer support, and the power you need for your typical conditions.
How does the 680m remote range work in practice?
The 680-meter range means you can operate the mower from a significant distance—useful for mowing large fields, hillsides, or when you want to stay in the shade while the machine works in the sun. The remote uses radio frequency, not infrared, so it works through light obstacles and doesn't require line-of-sight, though clear visibility is always recommended for safe operation. The actual effective range can vary with terrain and obstructions, but 680m is conservative for most open environments.
What's the self-charging system, and do I need it?

The self-charging system uses the engine's alternator to keep the battery charged during operation. If you're running the mower for extended periods, you won't need to plug it in to recharge—the battery stays topped up while the engine runs. For intermittent use, external charging is fine. Commercial operators running multiple hours daily will appreciate not having to remember to plug it in.
